Getting Creative in Korea

I wrote a song/poem last Monday and Tuesday.  It is silly and low-quality, but I’m proud enough of it now to post the lyrics on my awesome blog!  First, my disclaimers.  This is a first (yet, final) draft.  It’s a little Will Smith-y given all of its euphemisms for sex; I wanted to share it without anyone getting offended, you know?  It was kinda inspired by one of the school’s attractive, non-English-speaking secretaries but understand that it’s an entirely fictional story…and the characters aren’t she and I (me and her?  I never know).  Last, some things might make sense only to foreigners in Changwon.  Okay, enough…check it out!

Met this girl in Changwon, she was so fine
She’s the sole inspiration for this kick-ass rhyme
Told my friend of this infatuation
He laughed and asked if we’d united our nations
I said it ain’t like that because the girl’s so sweet
I try to communicate with her but it’s hangul that she speak
My heart is aching, my legs are weak
She got me dying from disease that I should have beat

Where I come from, girl, you wouldn’t believe
The cars don’t try to hit you and the streets are clean
But the level of violence is borderline obscene
People got no respect for fellow human beings
I came to the East, I flew miles and miles
Didn’t realize I’d come to love a golden child
And I had no stress, this place makes me smile
If all stays right I think I’ll be here for awhile
