Getting Older

Just now I was negotiating with E-Money about the purchase of Rock Band. It looks awesome. I know it’s awesome. But it is impractical for us. In reality, he lives too far for me to be traveling to his place constantly to play video games. Also, we would need 2 additional people to really make it work and, frankly, those days are over. We realize that without the dorm or the over-occupied house, with everyone living in different cities and being busy during business time and not staying awake until 4am and having responsibilities to people other than themselves, we just can’t get friends together to virtually rock out. A bunch of us may get together for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, but it would be the first time in a long time, and while 4-player gaming could certainly be a part of the gathering, it won’t be the focal point and it wouldn’t justify getting a ton of peripherals to sit and collect dust. It’s fine, though. It’s fine to grow up…just can be a little wistful, you know?

This is cool.  Muzak is playing in the cafe, but it’s totally muzak that I know.  It’s Laura Fygi’s “Tell Me All About It”.  How do I know that?  Was that song popular enough to be converted to elevator music?  In any event, I feel really elite.
