Ankle Troubles
My ankle has been killing me for nearly a month now, but Friday, Saturday and today I just gritted my way through a couple of jogs and playing basketball. It is necessary. Gotta do what it takes to uh…re-engage in a semi-active lifestyle. The basketball is interesting; before the game starts I’m unable to do a practice jog down the length of the court (I end up skipping or trotting to avoid putting the pressure on my foot), but when I have to sprint to defend a fast break I do it painlessly. The body is a miraculous thing. However, the jogging has been torturous. My left ankle begins to hurt during the first step and it doesn’t let up the entire way. It causes me to run gingerly and slowly, which means more time out there making the run more difficult to do and by the end I’m a sopping wet mess. Then again, I’m like that after any run so perhaps it’s no big thing. The whole activity might be making the injury even worse, but it’s worth it this weekend to run around instead of driving and sitting.
Fuck man, I have no plans for spring break. Gotta make some quick. Where is my phone??
